Along with a tremendous pleasure i take form the skill employed in making this modification, i also find an inexplicable fascination in the motive of an artist, any artist, in picking just that particular portrait to evolve into a biographical statement. In short, hummm, what makes a promising, capable, captivating young woman wish to grow up to be Salome ......... Well, no matter the answer, she has filled the shoes perfectly by every indication, assuming the role as if it was meant to be, a conclusion i would say is completely confirmed by that shocked and awed look on the detached head of John the Baptist as he gazes rapt into the face of his detractor; and they told him the understudy would be in so it was entirely safe to stay for supper.
